GENERAL INFORMATION

System for delivering image-guided radiotherapy

  • The Catalyst™ system consists of a state-of-the-art optical surface scanning and projection hardware device, together with highly optimized application software, designed for workflow integration. Catalyst is the solution that achieves the best patient positioning ensuring high accuracy, intrafractional motion management and respiratory synchronization, to improve treatment quality. Radiotherapy is a complex process in which many devices, usually from different suppliers, must work together during the different steps of the treatment chain. Catalyst™ provides automatic and independent verification of many critical parameters that were previously only possible to verify manually. Catalyst thus reinforces safety throughout the treatment chain.
  • Requiring minimal user interaction, Catalyst™ acts as a decision support system where the required information is projected directly onto the table or the patient. The high performance of the system provides immediate, real-time feedback, meaning the therapist can continue to focus on ensuring the best possible comfort for the patient and the best treatment outcome.
  • 1. Real-time 4D SGRT solution. – Real-time SGRT solution for the entire 4D treatment workflow, from setup and positioning to intrafractional motion monitoring and respiratory-gated treatment. – Proprietary color map projected onto the body for immediate correction of patient posture. – Assisted breathing, deep inspiration and trained/free breathing modes are supported. – Optional audiovisual coaching helps the patient follow optimal breathing patterns. – Patient baseline is calculated as an absolute parameter that can be used during treatment delivery.

    2. High level of patient safety and comfort. – Dose-free motion management. – No markers on or around the patient. – Audio-visual coaching via in-room speakers and video solution, helping the patient follow the optimal breathing pattern.

    3. Sophisticated software to streamline workflow. – Multi-vendor interfaces have been developed to ensure a smooth clinical workflow for almost all types of equipment.

    4. Increased productivity without compromising treatment quality. – Potential to improve the quality and speed of the positioning process, e.g. limb sarcoma. – Algorithm improves accuracy and speed of clinical application, to optimize ROI design. – Highly integrated QA/QC procedure: daily quality control within 5 minutes. – Potential to reduce the frequency of other IGRT technologies.
