PRESENTATION

The first and only robotic radiosurgery system with sub-millimeter precision, capable of treating tumors in any part of the body. It tracks and corrects tumor movement in real time, synchronizing with the patient's breathing to administer high doses of radiation with maximum precision. As a non-invasive alternative, it can treat oncological and benign tumors in areas such as the prostate, lung, brain, spine, liver and pancreas, offering personalized treatments for each patient.

GENERAL INFORMATION

First and only robotic radiosurgery system with sub-millimeter precision.

  • CyberKnife® is a noninvasive, painless, nonsurgical alternative to treat tumors throughout the body.

This prevents the body from receiving high doses of radiation that often damage large amounts of healthy tissue surrounding the tumor.

It is ideal for patients who do not wish to undergo surgery with inoperable or surgically complex tumors. Its advanced software allows the tracking of moving tumors, especially those located in the lungs, and reduces the radiation received by healthy tissues to minimal levels.

It allows radiation beams to reach the tumor from more than 1,200 different positions, concentrating the radiation on the target, improving the user and patient experience.
  • ✅ The CyberKnife® offers more treatment options, providing new hope for patients with inoperable tumors or those who refuse surgery.

✅ It continuously tracks tumor position, detects tumor location, and corrects tumor and patient movement throughout treatment.

✅ It delivers a high dose of radiation with sub-millimeter precision, minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.

✅ This treatment is painless and does not require the use of anesthesia, effectively eliminating the risk of complications such as infections, bleeding, and other side effects of traditional surgery.

✅ Shorter recovery time compared to traditional open surgery, as it is performed on an outpatient basis.

✅ In the case of intracranial treatments, patients receive radiation comfortably, thanks to the absence of a stereotaxic frame, and therefore without pain.

✅ The patient can receive their treatment in a number of sessions ranging from 1 to 5.
  • 🟢Continuous tumor monitoring

Tumors often move during radiation therapy. Even when the patient is immobilized, imperceptible movements such as breathing or, in the case of prostate tumors, prostate movement, can cause changes in the position of the tumor during radiation administration, causing surrounding healthy tissue to be irradiated. CyberKnife® has software that facilitates continuous tumor tracking, automatic detection of movement, and correction of the position of the robotic arm, readjusting the direction of the radiation beam without having to interrupt treatment or reposition the patient. No fiducial placement or stereotaxic frame is necessary.

    🟢Non-coplanar treatment

Unlike conventional linear accelerators (LINAC) that deliver coplanar treatments, CyberKnife®, thanks to its robotic manipulator, allows non-coplanar treatments. The radiation beams are delivered from different planes, allowing the tumor to be attacked from different angles.

🟢 Flexibility to deliver non-isocentric radiation beams

CyberKnife® is the only system capable of delivering isocentric and non-isocentric treatments, providing more conformal treatments to lesions with irregular shapes, preserving the surrounding healthy tissue.
  • The CyberKnife S7 system is designed for speed, providing operational efficiency and making it possible to treat the number of patients needed to drive financial success and deliver excellent patient outcomes.

✅ Start seeing patients sooner with the shortest installation and commissioning time on the market, averaging just 32 days for a dedicated SRS/SBRT system.

✅ Optimize treatment plans in as little as 60 seconds with intuitive, industry-leading planning and optimization software that enables same-day treatment planning and delivery.

✅ Deliver (ultra) hypofractionated, motion-synchronized treatments with sub-millimeter precision in as little as 15 minutes, achieving truly personalized treatments while maintaining patient throughput.

Application areas

The main types of treatments offered by CyberKnife include:

✅ Head and Neck Cancer: Tumors in the head, neck, and facial region: Such as tumors in the nasopharynx, oropharynx, larynx, etc. CyberKnife allows these tumors to be treated with high precision, minimizing damage to important structures such as the eyes, salivary glands, and brain.

✅ Lung Cancer: It is especially used in lung tumors that are operable or in those patients who are not candidates for surgery. CyberKnife allows radiation therapy to be delivered precisely, even in tumors located near critical structures, such as the lungs and heart.

✅ Prostate Cancer: CyberKnife is effective in treating prostate cancer, providing a highly precise dose of radiation to treat the tumor without affecting too much nearby healthy tissues, such as the bladder and rectum.

✅ Liver Cancer: Liver tumors can be treated with CyberKnife, especially in cases where surgery is not feasible or the tumor is located in a hard-to-reach area. ✅ Brain Cancer: Brain metastases or primary tumors: CyberKnife is used to treat brain tumors noninvasively, providing precise radiation therapy to treat both primary tumors and metastases without the need for surgery.

✅ Spinal tumors: Spinal tumors, whether primary or metastatic, can be treated with CyberKnife. The technology allows for radiation therapy to be delivered with great precision, reducing the risk of damaging the spinal cord and nearby nerves.

✅ Pancreatic cancer: In certain cases, CyberKnife is used to treat pancreatic tumors. This treatment is especially useful when the tumor is inoperable or when surgical resection cannot be performed.

✅ Kidney cancer: Kidney tumors: It is used to treat kidney cancer, especially when the tumors are small or in patients who cannot undergo conventional surgery.

✅ Treatments for non-cancerous conditions: Functional neurosurgery: May be useful in treating conditions such as trigeminal neuralgia (facial pain) and brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), among others. Chronic pain: For severe pain associated with certain tumors or conditions, CyberKnife may also offer treatment to relieve pain.

✅ Metastases and other secondary tumors: Used in the treatment of metastases (secondary tumors) from various types of cancer, especially when conventional surgery is not possible. CyberKnife is an excellent option for patients who have tumors that are difficult to treat with conventional surgery or who have conditions that make surgery risky or impractical.
